Fishing in Kansas

Kansas is best known for its big reservoirs and prairie rivers. Milford Lake holds blue catfish over 100 pounds and is the unofficial cat capital of the state. Tuttle Creek, Wilson, and Cheney reservoirs produce striped bass, wipers, and walleye. The Smoky Hill, Republican, and Arkansas rivers give up flatheads and white bass. Community fishing lakes scattered across the state are stocked year-round with trout in winter and channel cats in summer.
