Texas Fishing License
Issued by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department
Fishing in Texas
Texas is the biggest, most varied freshwater and saltwater fishery in the lower 48. Lake Fork is the trophy-bass capital of America and has produced more than half the state's top-50 largemouth. Sam Rayburn, Toledo Bend, and Falcon are tournament heavyweight venues. The Hill Country Guadalupe and Llano hold native Guadalupe bass and stocked rainbows in winter. The Gulf coast — Sabine, Galveston, Matagorda, Aransas, and the Lower Laguna Madre — produces redfish, speckled trout, flounder, tarpon, and offshore snapper, kingfish, and marlin.
