Fishing in Ohio

Ohio's Lake Erie is the walleye capital of the world — the western basin from Toledo to Sandusky produces millions of walleye and yellow perch every year. Spring Maumee and Sandusky river runs draw anglers from across the country. The Ohio River gives up sauger, saugeye, and big blue cats. Mosquito Lake and Pymatuning grow trophy walleye. Inland, the Mad and Clear Fork Mohican rivers run wild brown trout. Smallmouth fishing on the Ohio's Lake Erie tributaries is excellent.
