The Formosan landlocked salmon is a unique freshwater fish, classified as a subspecies of masu salmon. Habitat
This species is endemic to high-altitude mountain stream valleys, specifically found between the Xueshan and Central Ranges of Taiwan.
Distribution
Its geographic range is exceptionally limited, being endemic solely to the mountain stream valleys between the Xueshan and Central Ranges of Taiwan. It represents the southernmost subspecies of masu salmon globally.
